I currently serve as a Chair Professor at Zhejiang University in China, a position I have held since 2022. Prior to relocating to China, I was a Full Professor at the University of Adelaide (now formally known as Adelaide University) in Australia. My broader career encompasses both academic and industry appointments, including substantive roles at Amazon Australia, National ICT Australia (NICTA), and the Australian National University in Canberra. In recognition of my research contributions, I was awarded an Australian Research Council (ARC) Future Fellowship in 2012.

• The FCOS paper is regarded as one of the most impactful contributions in the field. FCOS is an anchor-free object detector, which solves object detection problems in a per-pixel prediction fashion. Most recent anchor-free object detectors employ FCOS as a basis. FCOS is included in pytorch

• SOLO ver2 and BiSeNet ver2 are included in Matlab Computer Vision Toolbox (R2025a).
